Continuing off of the heavy make-up and stylized theme from yesterday, I decided to take that attitude of painting and apply it to Nene Leaks, which was not a far jump. Here expression and skin tone are the main contrasts here and I think are two aspects that work well together in response to yesterday's portrait of Presidential Barbie. Nene Leaks fits into the trophy wife role in a bold new way, and the television show she's featured in (Real Housewives of Atlanta) is it's own fabulous spectacle. The display of wealth and status as it relates to the role of modern woman are excruciatingly entertaining. The show has a real beat on this moment in America, and it's fascinating to look at it next to the scripted BBC's Keeping Up Appearances to see how that wealthy woman role has shifted over time and across cultures.
