Let Me Call You Sweetheart
'Happy to release my new limited edition of nine petite paintings, Let Me Call You Sweetheart. These lovelies will be available in my shop for purchase for all of you art lovers on February 1st!
This series of black bows mourn the failed attempts of women in America breaking the glass ceiling, including attempts made by those that wield a great deal of power and fame. The bows themselves are plasticine trinkets painted as shiny still lives. This painter’s meditation on a form speaks to the pressure on maintaining the ideal woman/ woman's voice as charming, precious, and small. The repeated nature of the work speaks to the message as the paintings represent relentless efforts, and many attempts to gain equality. Together this collection of paintings aims to provide a place of subtle reflection and ultimately to dismantle the patriarchy (in the sweetest way possible).
These one-of-a-kind little gems are painted in oil on canvas over panel, and measure 6x8" in size. They are backed with sweetheart paper and are ready to hang. Click on your favorites to find out more details. Don't miss out!
